Colour Change Exterior Repaint & Brick Sealing, Steveston, Richmond, BC

This Steveston home had an exterior repaint with a colour change. The wood siding, stucco siding and soffits were painted Jasper Stone SW 9133. The fascia, gutters, 15 window frames, six door frames, five doors and the trim along the front deck and around the garage door were also painted, and the front brick and chimney were sealed. The garage door, the front balcony screen door and the black downspouts at the front and rear were not painted.

The siding, the soffits and the downpipes on the sides of the house got two coats of Sherwin-Williams Duration in Jasper Stone SW 9133. It went on in flat on the stucco and in satin on the wood siding and downpipes. The trim got two coats of Sherwin-Williams Emerald Rain Refresh in satin, Extra White SW 7006. The doors got two coats of the same product. The brick and chimney got two coats of clear Loxon sealer.

The homeowners needed extra time and support to choose their colours, so we did colour samples with them and moved the start date back until they felt ready. Careful preparation also mattered a lot to them. Failing paint was scraped, scuff-sanded and spot-primed, bare metal at the front of the house was primed with a direct-to-metal primer, and cracks and gaps were re-caulked before painting.
